Gary Wald was one of several people who offered information about Photo 723, Fayetteville Street in Raleigh. The hotel was the Sir Walter, and was registered in the National Register of Historic Places as the “Sir Walter Raleigh Hotel.” It’s currently an apartment house named Sir Walter Apartments. And Duke Energy’s North Carolina Regional Headquarters was built where the Cadillac/Oldsmobile was located.
About Photo 708, William Bonner reports: “The computer terminal in this photo seems to be a Courier Executerm 260 (or 265) by Courier Terminal Systems that was released May (April) 1971.” Can anyone identify the employee? Let us know at illumination@duke-energy.com.
