These employees worked with customers back in the day. But the photos from the Duke Energy archives in Charlotte, N.C., don't have names of the people pictured. That's where you can help. If you have details on any of the photos, email firstname.lastname@example.org, and include the photo number or attach the image.
Photo 567: This customer service representative pictured in the Carolina Power and Light 1976 annual report is making an energy audit call to a customer. Who is she?
Photo 598: We think this employee worked at a Florida Power office. What department is this? Any ideas on location and time frame?
Photo 619: The bus says the International Drive resort area winter festival runs from November 1994 to January 1995. Was this in Orlando? What was the winter festival?
Photo 629: Where was this Florida Power payment office? Who is the employee?
Mystery partially solved
We haven't been able to identify the Florida Power employee in Photo 589 but Thomas Camden of Duke Energy's Land Services department said he is using a theodolite. It measures horizontal and vertical angles. “The wheel at the top would allow the scope to move up and down so you could measure the vertical angle. It looks like he is adjusting one of the wheels on the bottom which would turn it to measure the horizontal angle. It looks like there is a jetty in the background, which would tell me he is near the ocean.”
