Trees, houses, stores – lights are everywhere during the holidays, and this year they’re making a special appearance at the Orlando Science Center. Until Jan. 3, visitors can experience the traveling exhibit, Playing with Light.

After stepping through a tunnel of 20,000 LED lights (for reference, the 75-foot-tall Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree has 50,000 LEDs), children and adults can trap light in water, walk inside a giant kaleidoscope, paint a picture with infrared light and do more light-based activities.

The 22 interactive stations are a fun way to learn how light shapes our world and how we view it. The exhibit is included with general admission. Admission is free for members, $20.95 for adults, $18.95 for seniors and students with identification and $14.95 for ages 3 to 11. Click here for Orlando Science Center hours.

Duke Energy has been a longtime supporter of the Orlando Science Center. The company is sponsoring this exhibit, which marks a total of $1 million in donations to the museum.

“Keeping young minds active by making learning fun and supporting science, technology, engineering and math education,” Harry Sideris, Duke Energy Florida president, said, “is an integral mission of the Duke Energy Foundation.”
