Duke Energy had more than 9,000 crews from 23 states and Canada ready to respond to Hurricane Dorian’s unexpected path. The crews, which included lineworkers, damage assessors, tree specialists and other support personnel, restored more than 288,000 outages in North Carolina alone in the three days following the storm.
While the brunt of Hurricane Dorian’s damage was outside of Duke Energy’s service area, the company’s storm response team was prepared for the worst and determined to restore every outage as quickly and safely as possible.
