The School, as well as members of the community, want students to have a positive interaction with the river. In order for that interaction to be positive the children need to feel safe. The Duke Energy Water Resources Grant will help us do this by acquiring assets and undertaking preparations needed to continue to grow the program. We hope to bring more children to the program, to enjoy the outdoors, to overcome their fears, gain skills and build strong community norms around how to care for our waterways."
