Over the past century, the company that was once the largest public utility in Indiana has celebrated many successes, made history and is largely responsible for the development of an electric power network across the state.
In 1912 Samuel Insull organized the Interstate Public Service Co. in Indianapolis. This company would eventually evolve into Public Service Indiana, Cinergy, and today – Duke Energy Indiana, the state's largest electric supplier with about 840,000 customers.
